I used to work in the Ad biz while in SG. During that time, I
spent countless late nights at work, sometimes into AM. Unpaid of
course.
Here in CA, there is the labour law to consider. If you don't take
your lunch after 4 hours on the floor, your company and you, will
be written up. After X times, you could get fired. Lunch has to be
completed before the 5 hour of work. My problem is, as a part-timer
scheduled for only 4 hours on the floor you would think that life
is a breeze. However being on 100% commission and in a retail
environment where the customer comes first, if you're in the midst
of helping a customer and helping goes into overtime, sometimes you
end up clocking out late, etc.
